MILAN, Jun 22, 2003 /FW/ --- In his show notes, Enio Capasa said, "I have chosen Casanova
as the icon of this collection. He is one of the everlasting symbols of male eroticism and
epitomizes the steadfast but light spirit of Italian creativity."
Erotic but always elegant in true Costume National style. The show
opened the men's spring summer 2004 collections in Milan, and depite
the torrid heat of June, Capasa managed to refreshingly transorm ideas
into design.
Set in motion by string picking rock sounds, shirts and cardigans are
buttoned asymetrically, ties hang loosely around the neck to the chest,
as the 1800's meets street charm, through bomber jackets and ultra-soft
goatskin overcoats and trenches.
Waistcoats and large V heart shaped necklines are worn under sartorial
jackets and tuxedos, bustiers are modified for the male, held together
by buckles and thin sashes, while lacing, hooks and straps are applied
to pants and tops.
Pleated and ruffled shirts are teamed with slim
line trousers, both high and low waisted, that can also be gathered or
flared at the bottom held together with small corset hooks.
Butter, champagne, sky blue, off white and obviously black for Capasa,
colour a collection of leather, silk, cotton and shiny viscose fabrics
creating a perfect harmony for the fashion conscious charming Costume
National spring/summer 2004 man.
