PARIS, Oct 5,2004/ FW/ – The Costume National 2005 spring summer collection is a red desert sand dream of exotic travel. Sensual and warm, Ennio Capasa’s urban African influenced tribeswomen dabble in rock n’ roll with ethnic eccentricity.
Tight accentuated feminine silhouettes lunged down the long runway bathed in light as vivid desert colors embraced their every step.
Sexily slinky to the sounds of the Rolling Stones, she is a rock chic at heart but loves the idea of mixing exotic pieces she finds on her travels in with her urban ultra modern wardrobe.
Whether wearing soft delicate suede that falls on the skin or defiantly bold jewelry, like large bracelets and African tribal necklaces, she is always in control.
Slick hair pulled from the face into a plait mimics the lacing detail Capasa reserves for tailored jackets and bodices. Hemlines are evident contrasts, either micro and short, or long and flowing for his felines, while keeping waists firm and thin via large belts.
Costume National is varied and eclectic as intricate details usually often only found among designs and dresses kept aside for Haute Couture can be found in tops and gowns. Trousers are tapered at the ankle or left to fall straight, while piping and trim in raffia curiously add even more harmony to this already cool and charming collection.
It may have been raining outside 14 rue Bonaparte in Paris, but inside the sun was as warm as Capasa had hoped as Costume National put together a well-tweaked show where each and every look had a purpose.
