MILAN, Jun 23, 2007/ FW/ --- Electro beats and indie punk set the mood for Ennio Capasa spring summer 2008, CoSTUME NATIONAL show. If it’s possible for a huge name like Costume National, to promote individualism, they succeeded in their ‘Independent & Proud’ fashion show.

The show started off with a semi safari look that was very minimalistic at first glance, yet very complex in construction. Monochromatic layering with clean cuts defined by thin ties and ultra thin lapels; it was Ennio Capasa’s masterful tailoring techniques that pulled it off. If a less able designer had done this, the impact would not be the same.

The result, the Costume National ‘uomo’ was on a mission to find a unique style of his own.

Interesting to note is the ‘worn in’ look, that made the collection look comfy. The jackets and ties, although clean cut, had an image of wear to them with wrinkles on paperesque fabrics.

Exaggerated cuffs did more then peek out of jacket sleeves while laser cuts, cutout flowers and touches of lurex did more to make the minimalism only an illusion.

From light safari colors like beige, off-white and sand, the clothing evolved as the Costume National man found his style. Black and grays of signature Ennio designs spiced up the designs as the styles become more city smart and punky. Trousers were Rock & Roll tight and a bit of rock star sparkles embellished jackets. From a bomber all out in silver sparkles to the small details on the upper lapel.

Still, it was during the later part of the show wherein Ennio’s signature designs that are street smart and savvy at the same time took center stage. The short rolled-up sleeve jackets and shirts are sure to be a hit for the season and skinny jeans for men is only getting bigger.
