PARIS, Jul 6, 2005/ FW/ --- Edgy and youthful, Hedi Slimane designing for Dior Homme continuous to be the favorite among the 15-25 males around the world with his rock & roll inspired collection for Spring / Summer 2006.
Sticking with his signature pencil-slim pants, the French-born designer sent out vinyl trench coats, gold lamé suit jackets and bomber jackets printed with musical notes to the delight of the echo boomer generation, which is his target market.
The jackets are short-cropped at the waist, sometimes at rib level, a trend that has been seen in Milan last week.
Neckties continue to be thin and slim; but this season, Slimane added bow ties to the mix, but matched with golf tees, giving the collection an avant-garde feel.
New this season, that is also very surprising, are the loose-fitting pants. Putting pleats in front, the usual slim silhouettes favored by Hedi became fuller.
Suspenders and two-tone wingtip shoes are the accessories of choice, a striking contrast to
the very modern look that Slimane heavily favors.
Due to this, there part of the 1930s elegance was added in the mix, making the collection more than just interesting. In fact, it was very eye-catching.
