DSquared2 MILAN, Jan 19, 2005/ FW/ --- Yesterday in Milan, the Caten brothers gave possibly their best menswear collection yet. In an ironic twist, bad boy sex gods of the very popular D Squared street chic turned to thy Lord, after all, the almighty loves all, even sex gods.

Not only was there a fabulous musical score mixed by DJ Ralf to accompany sartorial jackets and trousers that taper and finish at the ankle, vaguely 50’s in a mod reminiscent way, in a twist of gentlemanly and the elegant.

But this morning’s runway show was also part of a UNICEF and D Squared/Staff International joint venture. 7,500 limited edition t-shirts with the writing ‘Learn to love thy brother’ on the front have been produced exclusively to raise funds for the Tsunami disaster in South-east Asia.

On sale for 50 Euro each this morning, they will also be available throughout Europe at all stores that carry the D Squared label, a donation signifying unity and support that extends across the globe irregardless of race, color or creed.

Pews and Christian religious symbols set the stage for these newly converted believers. Perhaps church is the new in, and the celebration of the Lord, innovative. Hope and peace are tattooed onto jackets, ties and shirts, while Jesus’ face becomes a fashion icon.

Men came composed dressed in Sunday’s best looks of slim masculine silhouettes in double pocketed jackets worn with casual yet striking roomy crutch pants for comfort.

Luxurious fur collars and lapels on tweed overcoats as well as fitting for any occasion leather pants with knee padding are all part of the autumn winter 2005/06 D Squared collection.

Suitable for many a different man, the Caten twins extend their market beyond the obvious and pull out new elegance and contrast it against sporty essentials.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate good-looking men in great looking clothes. Controversial? Possibly.

Nevertheless expression comes in various shapes and forms and this is a collection that will sell like Bibles in Utah. Blasphemous? No, ‘Jesus loves even me’, just like a D Squared t-shirt says.
