Eymeric François PARIS, Jul 10, 2004/ FW/ --- Expectations for Eymeric François (photo at left) Fall/Winter 2004-2005 haute couture collection were extremely high. Fully aware of those great expectations, the boy-couturier did not disappoint at all.

Showing at Paris’ Palais Brogniart, Eymeric François’s collection of 21 stunning gowns bedazzled the capacity filled palace.

The show began with two identical, yet “opposite” long negligees in silk-satin, respectively titled La Belle du Jour and La Belle du Nuit.

The first in hirondelle was drenched in a shower of sewing pins, which had been lacquered in gold. The second was in pearl and drenched with silver sewing pins. As the dresses took the runway, you could hear them as the pins made sounds like a sweet cries in the night.

Humorously proving that he too has great imagination and can work well with color, François sent out a long faux fur coat in rose with sparkle effects, over a sassy little corseted, one-piece bathing suit in satin duchesse rose.

His fuchsia robe in crepe blended with blue lace moves in just the right way! No mere words alone could describe the chills that it causes upon those who witness its majesty on the female body. His faux mink coat in pink with acid pink zips alone is worthy of an Oscar®!

Breaking with his tradition of keeping his corsets well hidden inside of his dresses, François created a stunning corseted sheath dress in blood red satin. That dress instantly drew gasps from the mesmerized audience.

Although some may think that François’ corseted numbers restrict free movement, others disagree greatly. After the show, some guests were even heard saying that the boy-couturier had created “new sensations” through his haute couture, as exampled by his velour dress in lace with carmine flowers.

Well known for the wicked silhouettes that his dresses impose upon the female body, Eymeric François achieved a very sinful creation with his sheath dress done in a storm of violet lace. His arachnid veil in embroidered lace in mauve then proved that the boy-couturier is very well capable of creating something bewitching from seemingly nothing at all!

His strappy Labyrinth corseted dress brought the palace down. What is interested about this sexy dress is that it embellishes greatly the few assets that nature has seen fit to bestow upon some women with unfortunate busts. In a dress like this, even those neglected by nature are certain to be the only centre of attention in a room crowed with men!

The long, corseted sheath dress in petrol satin and with re-embroidered iridescent pearls literally transported me to a place and time of long forgotten, sensual pleasures. It reconfirms the Franois’ secret wish of restoring to women their full and unbridled sexual power over men, making them once again fatal!

In an interview with Fashion Windows one month before the show, Eymeric Francois’ business associate, Renaud Abiven, stated “With this collection, Eymeric François is going to show that he has matured even more not only in terms of creativity, but also in the way he works.”

Well the fortuitous Mr. Abiven was on the mark with that statement. However, I must end this review with my own pseudo complaint.

In this collection Mr. Francois did indeed reach new heights in his creativity. He, in a very diabolical manner, teased and taunted us with his very wicked creations and made us all feel new and secrets sensations. My only legitimate complaint is that there simply wasn’t more!
