MILAN, Jan 17, 2004/ FW /– A dandy and dazzling show. Fendi proposals for autumn winter 2004 seemed not to make a single false move on the runway in Milan last Tuesday.
Between nostalgia and contemporary, from the colour palette of warm snugly tones to the precisely cut jackets and pants, made the male silhouette attractive and superbly stylish, perfect for urban living.
Frolicking and formal, long double-breasted winter overcoats are styled with playful elements.
Polished looks went from mod 1950’s with slim line pants rolled up to expose lusciously laced boots matched with knit or silk tops, to the even more sportive male in jean cut pants, leather caps and biker jackets, 1970’s reminders through the use of sports coats with visible pockets and fringing.
Leather jackets are fleece lined and the velvet suits poetic.
The classic bomber is reworked and made precious through fabric choices such as luxurious mink and the softest nappa, colour chocolate and black.
Finale of single toned exits, dusty pink and aubergine are the highlights, as is the red piping along seams on black satin contouring even more precisely the manly shape.
The Fendi man is not overly accessorised, but carries clutch bags and wears leather gloves.
Energetic and chic in his casualness, a world traveller with ethnic influences through Moroccan influenced mosaic printed patterns, often gold in colour, that appear on shirts, bags and pants.
Active and attractive. Fendi was a delight and something special, all of which is influenced by the capital, Rome, where the Italian boy still has that infamous reputation of being coolly sleek and sexy.
