MILAN, Jul 1, 2004/ FW/ --- In a pristine new age jungle of earth tones and green, animal
sounds chirped sweet tunes and soft lights set the mood for Silvia Venturini (see photo at left) Fendi’s summer 2005 menswear collection in Milan yesterday afternoon.
The Fendi man is, as always, super cool and ultra chic even when appearing nonchalant and almost humbly naïve. He is an explorer cum hunter with bullet holders on vests and multi pocketed pants and jackets, which he fills with new ideas and experiences.
Shorts are a staple for daywear, it is after all the sunny season, and they hang loose to the knee in the softest summer thin leathers low enough to expose a hint of colourful brand label underwear.
He is also at times a college boy choosing to dress in V-neck sweaters sporting emblems and t-shirts reminiscent of soccer tops and gentlemen’s sports alike. Check and Venturini Fendi’s version of plaid is used for flat fronted trousers and tailored jackets alluding ever so slightly to English t the stiffness and aristocracy.
The colour palette is earthy in burnt orange and beige, chocolate and sand with splashes of occasional turquoise, especially when it comes to cool jeans style thin silhouette-accentuating pants.
Evenings are reserved for silky shimmer jackets and trousers that fall straight to the floor. The easy moving collection was finished with divine leather shoes that lace at the side and with maxi bags; ideal for hoarding ones must haves.
Fendi is dashing and delightful for any man looking to chill down next summer, and look gorgeous while doing it.
