MILAN, Jul 1, 2005/ FW/ – Film, prose, music and sea spray harmonize the Fendi spring summer 2006 menswear collection. ‘The Last Sun’ is the continuation of a journey between emotion and clothing started in recent seasons by the beloved luxury giants, Fendi.
Choosing to show press and buyers a short film rather than the usual suspects coming down the standard runway, Director Luca Guadagnino says ‘The First Sun is a brief vision, a double teenage dream, the feeling of melancholy attached to a rite of passage…’ while Silvia Venturini Fendi says ‘I wanted to communicate fashion through emotions…a jump into the temptations of life and adventure with all its disappointments and hopes.’
Inspired by the sea and salty water, rope and chain motifs appear as patterns, Naval Academy jackets are in ivory cotton with trimmings and piping reminiscent of Officer ranks and there is even a light K-way in waterproof leather.
The sixties are re-visited and made modern while the seventies remain bright and contained, shifting through time to give today’s man a wardrobe of luxurious fabrics must have accessories and an illuminated color palette.
Sartorial detail is of the essence for the Fendi man who desires a well cut, well fitting wardrobe not only for special occasions but the everyday.
A swimming trunk in lycra, nylon and stretch denim featuring seasonal prints, lightweight jacquard made soft and flowing, unforgettable denim and graphic knits in cashmere are all part of a wardrobe full of strength and eternal pleasure.
