Hermès Fall 2004
Paris Menswear Show Fall 2004
Hermès: Classy, Elegant & Sartorial
By Mari Davis
PARIS, Jan 27, 2004/ FW/ --- Sunday night at the Institut du Monde Arabe, Veronique Nichanian, menswear designer for the venerable French fashion house Hermès showed one of the classiest and sartorial looks for the season.
With a good balance of classic looks and contemporary suits, Nichanian showed that she is very much aware of the changing demographics around the world.
The older Hermès clientele are retiring, and handing over the torch their sons, who are younger and much more into contemporary looks yet needs a touch of conservatism.
Veronique Nichanian catered to those needs with aplomb, sending a knee-length A-line coat made of lambskin, with a hint of danger, yet very sartorial in its total look.
For the classic Hermès gentleman, the designer gave him Prince of Wales check suits made of wool cashmere.
And for the younger ones, she gave them sweaters and zipped hip length jackets, perfect for those cold winter days.
Decisive cuts and impeccable tailoring make this collection a must have for those who wants a touch of elegance and chic rolled into one.
