MILAN, Jun 27, 2003/ FW/ --- Waterfall, sand runway and tropical paradise is the Iceberg
2003 spring summer mens collection.
It is one of a stylish charismatic traveller who is looking for that road to nowhere.
Marine and navy influence with a new romantic feel dominate the collection.
Jackets and coats are almost Napoleonic in design and mixed with tribal accessories.
The Iceberg gentleman, even when stranded on a desert island wears tailored slim white pants,
double breasted jackets and white and grey wide pinstriped suits. He is a far cry from Tom Hank's 'Cast Away'.
And instead of FedEx boxes which surrounded Tom Hanks, the Iceberg gentleman has
duffle bags which are large and essential for the 'real' traveler.
Zuava pants / jodhpurs that finish either with ties or classical buttons are another
hint of military influence and the 1800's and come in a range of colours from fuschia to tan
to be worn with sandals or loafers.
Peter Beard, well known photographer is used as a figure of reference moving from Europe
to savage Africa, in natural colours from sand, savannah green and papaya orange.
Stone-washed hemp cloth pants, safari jackets and a kaki bomber with large external pockets.
Black faded by the sun worn together with white shirts in an adventure of elegance, wide
lapels and gold buttons, all worn with sailor pants with classic buttoned fly recalling
all the same other sailing elements such as rope for belts, knots and flashes of medallions
hand-embroided.
The art world is part of Iceberg's cultured adventure heading in various directions
through space and time with influences by Mario Schifano and flowers that are designed
by Gauguin in virbrant colours.
A contrast between freedom and elegance.
