MILAN, Jul 2, 2005/ FW/ --- Everyone thinks that the American Navy outfits are the best, but Iceberg is changing the minds of many making Air force flight costumes the chicest.
It is all about a comfortable relaxed fit in neutral colours for Iceberg spring-summer 2006 collection. Of course there are splashes of colour and prints mixed in, but the entire collection is derived from the days when bomber jackets were actually worn by bomber pilots.
Cargo trousers in different pocketed formats paraded the runway throughout the collection. The pockets of these trousers can be used for utility and for fashion with zipper fronts and large compartments.
Seen mostly in a washed out khaki, hues of grey and pale greens, they looked very authentic. As the models walked on a landing field of grass, brown round toe leather shoes and thong sandals were their shoes of choice.
The show picked up with colour showing floral print windbreakers, handbags and baggy trousers. This floral print was mixed with a rainbow of colours that brightened the collection.
Graphic tee shirts were in-crusted with Marilyn Monroe faces in neon green and bright orange. No pilot is complete without the classic aviator silver rimmed sunglasses.
Highlighted pieces through the collection included a chocolate pair of leather cargo trousers and a see through black cardigan. The bomber jacket is also a must have in a fine silk cotton material reminiscent of a parachute.
This collection broken down into style details can really be the look of College boy Americano. The effortless styling and fabrication is fitting for that comfortable relaxed look.
