Iceberg Menswear Fall 2007: Art & Function
Milan Menswear Show Fall 2007
MILAN, Jan 19, 2007/ FW/ --- If Gucci was about a hedonist winter, Iceberg went for a mergence of art and function, wherein, while keeping warm still remained as the focal point, it was made appealing with the use of colors and graphic prints.
Down-filled and quilted winter & ski jackets were made with high tech fabrics. Dark blue, green and brown were proposed as solid colors or as a combination to break the monotony.
Cashmere sweaters were knitted with washed-up color shades to imitate a watercolor painting of a winter scene while the ‘regular men’s suit’ was quilted and added a ribbed collar to become a winter jacket.
Trousers in denim, cords or neoprene were cut slim, but not constricting while the real suit jacket was constructed with rounded shoulders and again, slim fitting.
It’s a restrained collection, yet a bold statement from Iceberg. Its quiet beauty though it might sound like a whisper was actually heard loud and clear.
