Naoki Takizawa: Worthy Heir To Issey Miyake
By: Boyd Davis

Naoki Takizawa Naoki Takizawa joined Issey Miyake in 1989. A native of Tokyo (born 1960), he studied at the Kuwasawa Design School.

Trained by Issey Miyake himself before his retirement, Naoki Takizawa continues his mentor's legacy. Like his mentor, Noaki Takizawa experiments with fabrics and textures.

He also incorporates other elements such as music and dance into his fashion designs.

He took over the helm of Issey Miyake when his mentor retired in 1997.
