Jean-Paul Gaultier PARIS, Jul 3, 2005/ FW/ --- In the city where police skate around on roller blades and charm is abundant, Jean Paul Gaultier in his Rue St. Martin headquarters presented his menswear spring summer 2006 collection in an ode to the Military.

Braided detailing appears on shirts and tops while ranks are stitched onto striped shirt sleeves, matched with either slim fitting trousers or the classical Gaultier flared naval flapper jacks.

When talking military in France, Napoleonic features are a must and as part of Gaultier’s repertoire, tailored jackets are stylish and lacing ties bodices tight and helps balloon pageboy trousers.

T- shirts are delicious with ruffles reminiscent of peasant times flowing down the front to wear either formally or with a casual quirk and romantic shirts are light as this master plays with volume, adding and taking as he pleases.

The Jean Paul Gaultier wardrobe is a mix of a brilliant bright color palette that hints at the 70’s and is mixed with natural combinations that are transformed into a modernity all of its own.
