PARIS, Oct 2, 2007 / FW / --- Shiver me timbers! Captain Jack Sparrow be alive 'n well, 'n ye could fish 'im out today at Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Blast ye! The designer has turned all of his corsairs into sexy, female versions o' Johnny Depp ‘n other Caribbean characters, and with corsetry made in camouflage print.

Amid the smoke at the prow o' his runway was first a pirate lass wearin' loose jodhpurs, a black blouse gathered 'n twisted on the ribs 'n a wide-brimmed hat over the skull.

‘Cause Captain Gaultier, as he put it , “plundered from various shores” ‘n just like real sailors, his lassies seemed to have gathered here breeches o’ leather, there braided jackets, here a belt, there a tricorne, with some precious lace o’ course and not only fringed epaulettes.

Often smoking like buccaneers, the girlies had not only taken from France bad habits, but also striped T-shirts slashed open across the breast ‘n the sailor sweater, done up in sequins 'n beads. From exotic islands, came the colourful crochet dresses. From Africa, the safari jackets and from various travels and crossings, chiffon 'n ostrich feather crinoline skirts.

Land ho! Instead o' the usual bride, the finale featured a veritable bridal party: thirteen brides in white lace, bohemian crochet ,eyelets, tulle, silk 'n leather versions o' pirate smart, wit' veils attached to corsair hats.

The loot was not to be distributed on the spot ‘n that’s a shame, as the accessories were real covetable: the compulsory leather boots, the exceptional umbrella wit' a pistol fer a handle, the tricornes and bicornes made from straw hats, and all manners o' pipes and fringed scarves!

Hoist the Jolly Roger! All that was missin' was th' gold teeth!

Arrgh! In Gaultier’s hands 't was all like a jolly frolic, a merry romp.
