Jeremy Scott: Fashion's Sense of Humor

Jeremy Scott is Jeremy Scott --- there is no one like him! He delivers a good humour irreverence
with his collections.
If you are a fashion editor, you either love him or hate him, and
there is no middle of the road. You either admire his audacity or you just hate the wackiness.
One thing everyone agrees on though - Jeremy Scott makes great clothes.
Personally, I think we should be able to laugh about fashion. If we take things too seriously,
then we lose sight of what this is all about.
Fashion should be fun! Yes, it is serious business, but no one said that we should be
straight-laced. And if Jeremy Scott touches some of your sensibilities, just take it in
stride. After all, it is just a show.
And Jeremy Scott always put on a great show. It helps that his collection always come out strong.
Add to that some creative drama, the fashion show becomes a tableau, with a story to tell.
It's about the clothes and something more. It's like looking at a store window. There is a
story. You see the clothes, and you want to buy it, but you also know what the whole story is
all about it.
For the moment, Fall 2001 proved to be Jeremy Scott's last show in Paris. He started showing
in New York during the Fall 2002 season.
Let us just say the Jeremy decided to come home to the U.S. for the moment.
