Julian Roberts

Originally from Worthing, Julian Roberts studied at the The University of Northumbria for his bachelor's degree.

He worked for Katharine Hamnett and John Richmond before he got a seat at the Royal Art College for his MA in Fashion. He then worked for Jasper Conran as an assistant designer before launching his own label Nothing Nothing in 1999.

An expert in fabric cutting, Julian Roberts "challenged the accepted notions of cut and shape in complex, progressive ways without looking sci-fi"

He debuted at London Fashion Week off-schedule show during the Spring 2000 season. His experimental design caught the eye of the fashion world and won him a seat as a New Generation Designer sponsored by Marks & Spencer.

During the Fall 2000 season, Nothing Nothing debuted at London Fashion Week on-schedule show.

Julian Roberts is also a filmmaker who developed his techniques in art installations and multimedia while he was at the Royal College of Art. With his personal interest in music, Julian Roberts also mixes the soundtrack for his runway shows.

Fall 2001 is the last collection for Nothing Nothing. Julian Roberts introduced his new label "Julian And" during the Spring 2002 season at London Fashion Week.

During the Fall 2002 season, Julian Roberts launched the Julian And Sophie label, a collaboration with Royal College of Art textiles graduate Sophie Cheung.
