PARIS, Mar 6, 2005 FW/ --- It is always a pleasure attending a Junko Shimada fashion show. In them, one should always expect to find innovative shapes and forms.

In this her Fall 2005 /Winter 2006 collection, the image of the Shimada girl is more appealing than ever thanks to the shapes and forms for which the designer has become so well-known.

Shimada did bold colours in this collection such as her yellow knit coat dress worn with satin sashay belt and her knitted top, which falls from the shoulders and is worn over a blue satin skirt.

She created an innovative leather skirt and jacket outfit with white woollen trimmings. The jacket has tier layers in black. Shimada would go on in the collection to use this tier and fabric scheme again in some of her little black dresses and much to the delight of many in attendance. One such dress has a micro-bust.

A section in Scottish plaids has dresses, tops and jackets. It is original because it is the first time that this colour scheme has been brought to life on light and airy fabrics.

Overall this visually attractive and exciting collection is very different from previous collections done by the Japanese diva, yet it remains so very Junko Shimada!

She did some suits in colourful cottons and velour. There is even a short gold lame dress with vertically placed ruffles.

Lots of pieces in the collection have tuxedo shirt ruffles as embellishments. The heels are ladylike: bi-colours, fury or strappy. Some have 3 bracelet-like ankle straps and are decorated in crystals.
