Keanan Duffty: Street Couture

New York, Feb 10, 2001 / FashionWindows --- Historically, music and fashion have always gone hand-in-hand. Keanan Duffty, singer/songwriter turned fashion designer raised the ante on the relationship between fashion music by handling dual careers - musician by night and fashion designer by day.

Designing under his own label - Slinky Vagavond, Keanan Duffty brings "street couture" on the runway, clothes that would look good on stage (if you are a musician) and would look good on the streets if you just want to look hip.

For Fall 2001, Keanan Duffty brought back the icons on the runway, in Keanan Duffty style of course! The bullseye, the British flag and patches embellished the men's shirts. Although denim is the fabric of choice for men's daywear, there are also luxurious fabrics used for the more formal pieces which includes long jackets.

Building on the military look (one of the hottest trends for Fall 2001), Keanan Duffty sent models on the runway looking like commando soldiers as emphasized by their quasi military belts and boots.

The Keanan Duffty men are peacocks, not afraid to stand out in the crowd. If you are a musician, you HAVE TO STAND OUT! After all you have an audience to please.

If you wear the clothes on the street, YOU LOOK HIP and could grace the cover of Guitar Magazine. If you like color in your wardrobe, then you will be at home with Keanan Duffty.

Oh, one interesting thing about this show - the men's haircut. Hair ranged from long hair to quasi-U.S. Marine haircut! Talk about range...

A very wearable collection for the niche market of streetwear and club culture.
