PARIS, Oct 8, 2005/ FW/ --- Like a Japanese picture of a roaring ocean, clouds move across the sky and a 1920’s inspired wardrobe from a far off place strides the wooden boardwalk breathing in the sea salt spray. Antonio Marras for Kenzo spring / summer 2006 captured the spirit of the multi ethnical maison perfectly.
A men’s tailored suit told a story of comfort and the female desire to enjoy the sartorial luxury generally reserved for gentlemen, before she walks in seaside stripes of Atlantic colours blue, red and white.
Large buttons are functional detail that blend with fun polka dots leaving pencil skirts and trousers to sit high on waists matched with a mini bolero or wide sleeved jacket tied at the waist or crocheted knitwear that falls over a clam sensual silhouette.
The modern day Mary Poppins is playful wearing embroidery and elongated bodices as she celebrates the beauty of being a lady.
Travelling the world by sea, linking culture and history between far away lands; she collects from her journeys. Dazzling everyone as she mixes patterns and print, stripes and polka dots, tartan and lace in a storybook wardrobe of loveliness.
Dancing and dining she spies those surrounding her, her eyes roam the room, lowering them shyly in an act of seduction while her skirt rustles on the wooden ship floor. He approaches in an evening suit, slicked hair in place and offers her his hand.
