MILAN, Feb 22, 2005/ FW/ --- What shall a modern century woman be wearing next winter? Nothing but A 20th century bustier states La Perla….
La Perla gained much inspiration from specifically the 40’s this season. With the recurring theme of the La Perla style which is sensual femininity with a deep mystic identity in black. Their customer has been made to love refined dresses, shirts and bustiers.
The main colours of the collection only included a nude champagne pink along with variations and degrees of black/ash. A few beautiful light blue water pieces enhanced the collection’s colour palate. Chiffon and lace was in high rotation throughout the collection along with a ribbon theme.
Instead of a 40’s feel I felt a very romantic 70’s with the empire waist dresses and light skirts. The mink trimmed collars were very reminiscent of the 40’s along with the simple silk slip dresses. Skirts were ultra pleated and they caressed the hips. Extreme baggy trousers were cuffed with a buttoned motif on the side.
For outerwear, military jackets will make this dame fell a little trendy and rugged, which adds to the La Perla woman’s mystic demeanor. Beaver and mink fur jackets just barely hit the waist.
Many of the tops and dresses were inspired by their signature bustiers. These bustiers add to the femininity of the collection which is a now a staple for La Perla.
A key accessory in the collection was a military style “Bustina” hat with a small peak. Forties style moccasins for daytime were cute along with military button boots.
La Perla was very simple with the evening looks only showing a few flowing gowns with empire waist styled with ribbon tied sandals.
