MILAN, Dec 20, 2003/ FW/ --- La Perla presents a spring summer 2004 collection full of sexiness and femininity aimed for seduction.
Best known for its underwear, La Perla places lace bras and sensual knickers under transparent veils and light jersey cardigans.
The concept of the baby doll is made wearable outside the bedroom by placing them over tight jodhpur come capri style pants.
Bodices are boned and tight accentuating the female form and seams are evidenced on skirts and dresses by using strips of different toned fabric, with colours ranging from mint green, black, silver and white
Long trousers are a combination of tuxedo elegance with ribbon down side seams and jean weekend wear through visible pockets, upturned hems and flaring bottoms.
Floral printed fabrics are made into light, airy, flowing dresses with fishtails that sway as hips move from side to side.
Overlays of fabric, gathers, ruffles, bows and net are all part of La Perla’s attempt to move away from their bedroom and swimsuit fame.
Vaguely reminiscent of the 1980’s mixed with the 1920’s, backless beauties, slinky body hugging materials and fluent, uninterrupted lines are part of the winning formula of La Perla, even if at times the show was a tad repetitive.
