Lie Sang Bong PARIS, Feb 25, 2007/ FW/ --- Known for his alternative vision of fashion, Lie Sang Bong chose to envision and underline the otherworldliness of women for Fall 2007… it’s the fall fashion Venus-girl look and boy, is it eye-catching!

Metallic, plastics, materials, synthetics, studded collars, black shiny patent leather, and beautiful thick belts made with various materials that seem to resemble the waist belts of the Korean Hanbok. Military styled designs are also incorporated because of course – Venus has to be defended from alien intrusions!

We are talking about a futuristic look that works in the world of Tokyo drift and Matrix revolutions. This girl is saying, “I am from another world, I am far ahead of you – and of course, I am inaccessible!”

The clothes are a blend of fashion and electronica, and save for the few gowns at the end of his show, most of the outfits are not form fitting. It’s tough, shell shocking, and overbearing at times, but we must hail him for his creativity to be able shell out something completely different and at another level - like a romance actor hitting the big screens as a Warcraft-like monster in a horror flick.

It’s the world of science fiction, fantasy and otherworldliness meets “reality” in Paris fashion week. In the otherworld of technology driven, urbanized, and revolutionizing environments, where the more outrageous the look the better, this line will work well, but it is certainly worlds away from the harmony between space, nature, and high society.

High energy and dynamic, the show incorporated lights, sounds, and music where used to recreate the vibrant big-city Seoul style that he tries to depict in his clothing.

The runway is a shiny glistening black material and he ends the show with elegant, traditional looking gowns made with the same edge and energy as his robotic, electronica induced, cyberpunk collection, not to mention with a forceful and extravagant drum solo.

The crowds loved it… they didn’t even care if they would wear his clothing or not. This ending convinced them that they should come back next year to see what he will “drum-up” in the shows to come.
