PARIS, Mar 4, 2005/ FW/ – In a trance of soft piano playing, graceful Frenchman Marcel Marongiu delivered a mystical fall winter 2005/06 collection of precise cuts and delicate feminine silhouettes.
Timeless and stylish, there is no need for unnecessary decoration for the Marongiu lady, she is everlasting and has a halo of tasteful class to protect her against the fast fad erosion of the fashion moment.
With the right mix of sensuality, ladylike looks of volume plenty skirts and deep V-neck tops, flowing jersey and silk chiffon transparency along with clever boning in dresses accentuate the upper torso.
Velvet is the new delicacy, alternated with lace inserts to create extra softness and grace, skirts below the knee hang neatly from slim waists, teamed with gold and silver net pumps.
Marongiu is also a master at knitwear, creating little tight dresses that are at times unforgiving for non-model female figures, but lovely in texture and their simplicity, adding front panels at times for abundant pockets to keep hands warm for the harsh winter.
The designer makes possibly one of the loveliest overcoats of the season so far, flaring from the waist to cover skirts and fitting upright shoulders perfectly. His precision continues as others have either hidden pluckets or double breasted buttons that close neatly down the front.
Empire lines and halter neck dresses are reserved for evenings of slender sophistication, beaded adobes and divine comfort in a palette of soft grey, touches of aqua and black.
The 1970’s lean silhouette is the foundation of the Marcel Marongiu fall collection, where less is more and style is not simply a statement but rather a way of being.
