Max Mara MILAN, Mar 15, 2004/ FW/ --- Not everyone is a femme fatale, or a glamour girl. Some of us have to work for a living, i.e., hold a 9 to 5 job. And Max Mara who had been dressing up working girls since the 1950s got it down pat for the workingwoman.

For Fall 2004, Max Mara proposes maroons and browns to ward off the winter chill. Why wear black all the time (though there was a handful of these go-anywhere dresses in the collection) if you can put some color in the already dreary winter.

Tops with silk ties of the same material, cashmere jackets paired with skirts and pants, vests to go with the long-sleeved blouse and pencil cut skirts – the Max Mara woman will look professional and chic come winter time.

There were Norfolk jackets trimmed with fur, and short cropped suede jackets that would be good for more than one season. There are even aviator jackets in the lot, a nod to the mannish trend that seemed to have permeated everywhere this season.

And the best of all, the shoes! Two-toned granny boots with 3-inch heels would look good whether a girl is in town or in the country.

Max Mara also allowed his girls to have fun with the charcoal gray catsuit matched with below-the-knee boots.

The gown with the keyholes at the back would be great for the office Christmas party, it looks chic yet still very professional.

In short, Max Mara thought of everything, from the office setting to a weekend in the country, to office parties!
