Max Mara MILAN, Feb 25, 2005/ FW/ --- Max Mara, known for its sporty elegance pushed the envelope this season by incorporating femme fatale elements to its well-known brand, giving it a highly sophisticated look and silver screen goddess appeal.

Vacillating from very slim sporty silhouette to hobble skirts, onward to fringes and ruffled hemlines, the Max Mara woman will have a very eclectic wardrobe that will bring her from day to night.

Opening with a white long coat generously trimmed with fur and Gemma Ward wearing a scarf covering both her head and neck, it was a vision of a very sophisticated woman that have qualities of Grace Kelly and Sharon Stone rolled into one.

And Max Mara never strayed from the statement made by the opening piece, sending one look after another that mixed Grace Kelly’s elegance with Sharon Stone’s femme fatale appeal.

Hip hugging skirts and tailored pants were matched with long sleeve turtleneck shirts layered with jackets or coats, even capes. Shoes ranged from practical pumps to high-heeled stiletto boots that were sometimes trimmed with leather tassels.

Culottes also made it in this collection styled as a pair of walking shorts, or, believe it or not, as office wear!

For evening, it was hobble skirt time and peplum-inspired skirts, giving it an almost 1930s to the 1940s appeal, again that sweet and innocent look translated into the modern woman.

Giving a nod to the fur pompoms that has been seen all over Milan this season, Max Mara even sent some of those either as a charm on a belt or a closure to the coats and jackets.
