MILAN, Feb 22, 2007/ FW/ --- Dressed for a weekend in the slopes inspired be working the slopes, styles are blended in Max Mara’s Autumn Winter collection. Urban chic inspired by the mountain is the mood Max Mara set and created. From Rangers to the skiers she’s bundled up and ready to take on the world.
Clothes are warm and sporty yet materialized in luxurious fabrics. Mohair knits in bright colors are paired with high-waist silk skirts that resemble ski pants. Zippers become an attractive hardware in brilliant gold and work in dual purposes on jumpers.
Jumpers are modeled after a blend of ski attire and rangers outfits. Wide legged jumpers resemble firefighter pants but done in nylon and silk have an urban punch.
Colors are dark and smoldering with touches of bright and even fluorescent color, giving elegance to a sporty look. A floor length down coat lined with bright orange, takes the mountain ranger to the city.
New shapes are created by the layering and cinching of garments while textures play a big part in the ambiance.
Jackets and coats in heavy wools are embellished with long yarn fringes. Taking after the fringe on biker jackets, they line the arms and shoulders adding full rich texture. Knits are important not only in the fringe but in sweater pieces themselves.
Sweaters have taken on a new life and are modeled after jackets. Covered in fringe the shape created resembles a winter jacket but if you add rhinestones to the fringe the sweater turns into a casual evening piece.
Playing with the fact of a sweater becoming elegant of a jumper sensual Max Mara pulls through with its story of textures and colors.
Although the clothes are inspired by the mountains, the Max Mara woman is still a city bunny instead of a snow one.
