Missoni MILAN, Jan 14, 2007/ FW/ --- If this coming summer the Missoni gent will be seen displaying his form in the golf course, expect to find him at the ski slopes for Fall 2007.

With Synthetic Cubism as the apparent inspiration, lines and forms were reinterpreted to form a collage of graphical shapes that put the avant-garde art movement at the forefront.

Perhaps it is a parallelism or just a coincidence, but an art history student can easily recall that Cubism started at the beginning of the 20th century, its most popular years were between 1909 through 1912.

Whatever Luca Missoni’s reasons for choosing this period of art for his muse, he hit right on target with slim fitting turtleneck sweaters in signature Missoni zigzag prints and stripes that were turned into collages, creating a brand new direction for the house.

Mixed or matched with solid capes or jackets, the final look is classy. And with big goggles as accessories, the sportive feel coupled with a futuristic bent could be easily seen.
