Moritz Rogosky: Contemporary Looks & Sophisticated Detailing

PARIS, Apr 23,2004/ FW/ --- One of the hardest working emerging menswear designer, Moritz Rogosky designs extremely contemporary looks mixing classical influences from a highly developed personal sense of style.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany on Oct 26, 1966, Moritz Rogosky spent part of his growing up years in New York where he lived from 1976 to 1982. He moved back to Europe when he was 16, choosing Paris as his new home.

When he was 19, he enrolled at the renowned Studio Bercot where he graduated in 1987 with a degree in fashion design. After graduation, he went back to Germany and worked as an assistant to Japanese designer Yucca who was based in Hamburg that time.

In 1993, he decided to strike out on his own and launched his eponymous menswear line and started showing at Casabo Paris and Premium Berlin. Two years later, he was invited to show his collection at the Paris Menswear calendar debuting during the Spring 1996 season.

Maybe it is the influences of the two continents where he grew up that Moritz Rogosky plays with new ideas and theme every season, interpreted in a surprising variety and range of fabrics.

Known for his sophisticated detailing, Moritz Rogosky has dressed personalities on Paris TV, cinema and art. Working with a team of 5 in his studio near the Bastille, Rogosky designs at least two collections a year.

The label is available at Baycrew’s (Journal Standard) and a dozen specialty boutiques in Japan. It is sold in Hong Kong at Lane Crawford, while in Paris; you can find Moritz Rogosky’s clothing at ‘Ladies&Gentlemen’ and Black Block.
