MILAN, Jan 20, 2005/ FW/ --- Moschino collection for 2005-06 is in high gear for the fall. The presentation began with a great mixture of burnt oranges grounded with dark browns.
Brown checkered blazers were used as over coats to orange ribbed turtle necks with thin cord trousers as a base.
With a mixture of mannequins and real models, the presentation made a statement. A small exhibition of cave men using business materials exuded that the Moschino man is all about business and getting back to the root of his fashion.
The collection developed into a plethora of themes including the 70’s, but inspired by the
jazz once played in Chicago and New Orleans.
I could definitely see Frank Sinatra wearing Moschino fine tailored black suits with a basic white shirt and a dynamic silk tie. Dizzy Gillespie would probably have opted for next season’s velvet coat with a wonderfully stylish vedura.
Moschino’s collection further progressed to the use of vibrant colours of bright green,
red and mauve yellow.
Pinstripe suits were adorned with gaudy gold broaches. Moschino has always been about accessories and this season has been no less.
From fedoras to leather gloves, they were all intricately designed. Their signature wide framed sun-glasses accompanied every flashy suit. The scarf selection ranged from argyle print to basic rib-cottons.
Stepping into the 70’s era, all of the jewelry was in gold from huge gold cross necklaces to large broaches.
It gave the collection a dated look, but the effect was very right with the right silhouettes and dynamic coloration of the clothes.
This collection is presented for everyone everywhere. The life philosophy of the Moschino man is “Love” or “Smile” and this collection definitely left me loving many aspects of it and smiling out of the door.
