MILAN, Sep 29, 2005/ FW/ -- Moschino Cheap & Chic is ‘Truly Italian’. Green white and red patriotism for the historic fashion house that loves pasta and Nonna’s tomato sauce, dresses Campari bottles in little red jackets and believes its all about a luxuriously cool Italian lifestyle.
The fifties and sixties are alive and well and while one thinks that pasta is reserved for eating, Moschino Cheap and Chic could easily fool you by using it for crowns to adore pasta princesses or to embellish a jacket or two.
Moschino culture flashes back to the archives and revitalizes the signature red heart and thick black and white stripe, and while in this Alice of Wonderland state of wide-eyed joy, be careful not to overlook the leopard print.
A clear plastic trench will keep you dry in summer showers and jeweled swim suits will allow you to leave the accessories at home while sipping colored cocktails by the pool in Hawaii.
Groovy colour and happiness become prints of floral and reworked paisley turned into summer dresses while puff sleeves and the occasional frill keep the silhouette fluid and feminine.
Nothing but a green, white and red finale could be expected to finish off a show with a soundtrack of legendary Italian greats and Beatles staying power.
