LOS ANGELES, Feb 21, 2004/ FW/ --- Last week in New York, with rumors rife that Narciso Rodriguez will replace Tom Ford at Gucci, the Cuban-American designer’s show is the most highly anticipated. He obliged his fans by showing a Fall 2004 collection that is absolutely a great example of fine tailoring.
With skintight dresses and suits that were absolutely cut to perfection certainly looked fitting for the season in question with the use of luxe fabrics, satin details, ruffles and a hint of fur.
And as one fashionista said, after the show, “Perfect for the sexy Gucci look.”
Soft colors for the most part in shades of cream, yellow, blue, pink and then of course your basic black, were the color palette used by the designer.
And let’s not forget his wide use of satin piping to accentuate most of the pieces shown in the collection. It really gave the pieces that sensual and sexy look enhancing the curves of the one who wears the outfit in all the right places and chic, chic, chic!
Narciso Rodriguez with his signature body-hugging cuts continued with his trend in pencil cut dresses and skirts for the most part with his daywear collection.
He then turned it around with the A-line cut filled with layers of ruffles for the evening and again the use of satin details in all the right places.
He also hinted the use of shrugs in soft pink cashmere and black shearling to keep one warm yet stylish in those cold nights.
What else can you say, except that, “It’s perfect!”
