MILAN, Feb 18, 2005/ FW/ – Starlets are all part of New York fashion week, so Miss Paris (Hilton hotel heiress of course) sitting front row with her inseparable fury friend and beloved accessory Tinkerbell at the Narciso Rodriguez show was no surprise, problem was, being the last seat at the end of the runway meters from the photographers pit, the paparazzi went wild.
To a full house, in a neat and professional show, one of New York’s top talents, gave an autumn winter 2005/06 collection based on essential cuts and sartorial tailoring to enhance the female silhouette.
Waists are accentuated and hips narrowed, from pleats to paneling, tulip skirts and pixie boots, Rodriguez concentrates on strong forms of fundamental elegance without getting lost in excessive details and adobes.
Appearing almost futuristic at times, the designer takes his clipping scissors to separates and cuts out peep holes. Openings become dramatic and along with seamed zippers become the two decisive details.
However, there is another trend that is bound to interest ladies worldwide, a change thought never to be seen, and one that may just reduce the plastic surgeons perky breast rate, the visible bra strap. Yes, while once thought ugly and not to be seen, Rodriguez says it is okay to wear a regular black bra with low back sensual dresses, and even have it not fit exactly underneath the shoulder straps.
In a contemporary color palette, he seduces his audience, from winter darks to light dazzling pinks and turquoise in a wardrobe fitting for both the stylishly simple indispensable dressed woman to those seeking singular urban looks.
