DALLAS, Oct 10, 2001/ FW/ --- Belgium-native Olivier Theyskens is one of the hottest young talents in Paris.
Last Fall 2001 season,
he was widely rumored to take over Alexander McQueen's position at Givenchy. (Julien MacDonald eventually
replace Alexander McQueen.) Though this might sound like a consolatory tone, just being considered is
honor enough for a designer who is barely 25. That validates the enermous talent he has.
A technical master, Olivier Theyskens excels in the cut and fabric treatment. His designs has a gothic
influence, but it is more than that.
It is modernistic and edgy, with a little touch of danger and elegance
at the same time. A skillful colorist, Oliver Theyskens can make clothes come alive with his subtle tonal
changes.
