PARIS, Jun 21, 2004/ FW/ --- No man sits atop the world’s fashion industry in quite the way as does the British designer, Ozwald Boateng. But then again, there is only one Ozwald Boateng.
As one of the hottest things in British fashion since the mini-skirt, he contributed greatly to a rebirth of London’s Savile Row and to men’s tailoring in general.
What is most appealing about Ozwald’s Bespoke Couture line is that the suits elongate the torso and slim the body, making the silhouette svelte, sophisticated, and dare I say sexy, whilst maintaining an inherent masculinity.
For centuries, women have had a stranglehold on the secrets of masking physical imperfections, while embellishing what nature has already given them. In Bespoke Couture, men can now claim what nature has denied them and make the most of their assets.
All of Hollywood knows of the magic proposed by Bespoke Couture. For Will Smith, Ozwald created a stunning bespoke outfit for his appearance at the 2002 Oscar ceremony. The International Herald Tribune stated that the outfit was worthy of an Oscar itself. He would go on to dress the entire male cast for the premieres of Matrix Reloaded around the world.

The stellar Boateng clientele includes Keanu Reeves, Samuel L. Jackson, Daniel Day Lewis, Wesley Snipes, Jude Law, David Bowie and Laurence Fishburne, as well as George Michael, Elton John, Mick Jagger and Sir Anthony Hopkins.
I first met Ozwald two days after his triumphant return to the Paris runways in July 2001. He showed himself to be a sensitive man with a clear vision of himself and of his career. He spoke openly and candidly covering everything from his parents and upbringing, to the origins of his career, his early successes and the triumphs and difficulties he has encountered in his career.
