Philippe Dubuc PARIS, Jan 29, 2005/ FW/– Modern day heroes and vital force inspire Philippe Dubuc’s menswear winter 2005/06 collection of slim silhouettes in a contemporary urban wardrobe.

Canadian Dubuc manages to mix just the right amount of individuality and wearability in an immediately recognizable hand.

Battling technology and neon, his heroes dress in a dark palette of blacks, grays and petrol allowing only for simple hints of light via winter whites and red tinges in knitwear.

Flat fronted trousers with details like flipped seamed pocket openings and pockets that hang longer than jacket hems are all part of Dubuc’s clever and meticulous wardrobe.

Wool is mixed with delicate suede for a sleeveless top, while regal coats are superbly tailored and worn over t-shirts for the right blend of classical and casual. Striking stitching features on jackets are used for an asymmetrical take on the everyday, making the common exclusive and unique.

Zips, buttons and harness style closures are used not only as detail but are instead practical, allowing garments to breath via labyrinths of openings and hidden features, from mini bolero style tone on tone sweater vests worn over long sleeve tops and buttons that appear on tops from the waist down.

Urbanity is suggested via fraying purposely unfinished seams on velvet and felt like fabric suits.

Philippe Dubuc delivers a neat well-put together collection using key ingredients to find the right formula for a contemporary metropolitan wardrobe.
