MILAN, Oct 2, 2003/ FW/ --- A journey that lasted 30 minutes took us to far away places,
from Africa, South America to Asia, leaving one suspended between colours, emotions
and odours that Miuccia Prada transforms into garments like only she knows how, resulting
in a spring summer 2004 Prada collection that cascades delicately onto female skin.
In a brief, intense, rich narration full of detailed fabric and interlacement of ethnic
cultures, the 1950’s cut is revisited and interpreted to become contemporary and modern,
giving a new fresh chic.
Simple elements in jersey and silk, changing shades of tie dye and batik while tribal
designs are used also as accessory like the Moroccan sandal, feminine and vain in the heel.
Skirts are tight in the waist accentuating the female form and fall A-line and wide to
the knee.
Pleated dresses are made precious with high stitching that thinly hug waistlines.
Miuccia Prada presents, even for the main collection, a cheerful show and perhaps an
invitation to travel and use the emotions lived free and open to creation and
interpretation.
