Prada Prada MILAN, Sep 27, 2005/ FW/ --- With the romantic and feminine flair that has been seen this week in Milan, Miuccia Prada as always has chosen another route, back to the basics of a working girl’s wardrobe.

Call it the new ‘urban uniform’ if you want, but the Prada ladies for Spring 2006 are no-nonsense kind of girls, who go to work everyday, has harried lunches and leisurely dinners.

She carries a big tote for her paperwork and probably a pair of dress shoes and silk hose to change from her more functional boots and sandals paired with woolen hose when she gets to the office or her dinner date.

She wears separates in neutral tones, her skirts made of box pleats, her blouse loosely fitted and closes all the way to the neck, and the only embellishments are tiny buttons and thin belt made from the same fabric. It’s the tailoring that counts – sleeves that drape gracefully on the arms and shoulders, tiny darts and stitches that define the bodice.

Prada She likes feeling comfortable in the summer heat with her sleeveless black tunics again with pleats and just tiny white grid lines as decoration. To protect her face, she wears a visor and sunglasses. Together with her handbags and totes, they define Prada’s accessories collection next season.

She can be a little risqué, if you can even call it that with her spaghetti-strap columnar slip dress with handkerchief hemline, something for dinner out. She’s still a no-frills girl though, but you have to accept, she looks delectable in sorbet melon and beige.

The Prada lady works hard during the week but she also knows how to play during the weekend. For that, she has shorts and long-sleeved shirts, both lightly fitted and once again, only white lines that are sometimes wavy sometimes just a grid as embellishment.

That’s Prada for Spring / Summer 2006. Back to basics and eventually the future as women become more involved than she is today with the way the world is being ran.
