DALLAS, Dec 30, 2005/ FW/ --- The holidays are over and in a few days, we are either back to work or in school. And in the middle of winter wearing our coats and scarves, it is nice to look forward to the lightness of spring especially if you’re looking into the Miu Miu Spring 2006 collection due out in stores this March.
It has everything that’s ‘IN’ for 2006 and Miuccia Prada made sure that that’s anything that’s ‘OUT’ was literally left out.
Case in point, bright whites are out, soft whites are in --- so check out the sleeveless black & white above the knee dress with black wide straps on the shoulder and black pocket flaps right below the waist on a soft white structured silhouette.
That dress alone brings us to the next ‘in’ thing --- structured silhouettes. All those floaty dresses, well, they belong to 2005. But ‘tight clothes’ is also a thing of the past. It’s more like ‘loose fit’ like the yellow A-line dress with starburst prints and black V-neck collar.
There is even the baby doll dress with a square neck and puff sleeves, which is actually very loose fitting. It’s still structured, almost architectural.
Browns are so last season… and gray is in. So, don’t forget to check out the gray smock dress with long sleeves, and the gray slouchy shorts and jacket with cummerbund belt, another very hot item for Spring 2006 since city shorts are out and slouchy shorts are in.
The collection is not your typical ‘light & breezy’ spring looks. It’s more of ‘radiant and refreshing’ especially with the subdued light colors that borders on neutral.
Which actually is another hot item on the list for this coming season – neutrals are in while brights are out.
So truly… it’s what a girl wants, forget the old and onward with the new as we face a new year and the second half of the first decade of the 21st century.
