MILAN, Jun 28, 2003 /FW/ --- The Miu Miu man for spring / summer 2004 is a romantic
western adventure.
As Miuccia Prada said backstage "I didn't mean it to be western. It just
came out like that."
The result of a researched nostalgic past, as the moment
of the bad and aggressive is finished. There is the research of something
more human, real, clothes that are loose and relaxed.
Soft fabrics in a delicate mix of washed-out colours.
The new Miu Miu man
is more sensual with touches of transparency in shirts, calf hugging pants,
deeper round necklines and a what looks like thermal underwear with deep
cuts out of the sides while the left over fabric hides his nipples and little
else, but worn with matching cardigan.
The tender and tough side of the Miu Miu man is demonstrated by matching
shorts with cowboy boots.
Jackets and pants remain tailored and are lightened
up through the mixing of patterned or plain shirts, both unironed.
Shirts
and tops are often made up of mixed fabrics and tops hang below small fitted
jackets with minimal collars.
A show of style and ease with hints of Americana through the idea of the
west, but with a European feel for quality, history and romance.
