Prada Menswear Spring 2008: Pajama Party
Milano Moda Uomo (Milan Menswear) Spring 2008

MILAN, Jun 25, 2007/ FW/ --- Why do girls all have the fun? Men can cozy up also in their pajamas. But instead of doing their nails and their hair, the men paint the town red, go to work or travel!
Miuccia Prada always has a penchant for the unexpected. She always think outside the box, and that is the reason why she is always ahead of the curve, especially when it comes to fashion. And for Spring / Summer 2007, she was inspired by the pajama, yes, that loose-fitting and comfortable, usually constructed with very light fabric, that is a staple in our wardrobe since we were kids.
From dusky florals to solids, to the light knitted pullovers, Miuccia Prada kept the silhouette slim, but gave a lot of room for ease of movement. Trousers were cut straight leg, just like the pajamas!
But, it was the shirts and coats that truly catch your eyes. Short-sleeved shirts made from small chequered voile or a bigger & wider rendition of the plaid, the shirts can be worn tucked in or allowed to hang out, without losing the ‘formality’ of the look.
In short, a man can get ‘comfortable’ while still keeping his ‘poise’ as the women would say.
The suits followed the more traditional Prada silhouette. But, the coats were reworked to give it the crested bedroom coat! Well… the theme is pajamas after all. And, by the way, you won’t really be disappointed because this Prada collection truly has an innovative streak in it, the kind of innovation and novelty that we had come to expect from Miuccia Prada.
