Prada MILAN, Sep 27, 2006/ FW/ --- Miuccia Prada continues her treatise on strong women for Spring 2007. If Fall 2006 was all about Amazon goddesses as college coeds, the sorority girls will find their sisters have moved beyond the stars and have become galactic amazons.

In a seeming take from Star Trek, Lt. Uhura’s miniskirt uniform on-board the Starship Enterprise had been turned into colorful microminis cinched at the waist with a belt, her communicator had been replaced with a purse decorated with palm leaves and her Starfleet issue backpack had turned into leather with tribal markings.

Futuristic in more ways than one, Miuccia Prada then put her attention in making the ladies beautiful Orion slave girls, which is actually a misnomer because the women of Orion actually run the whole planet.

Putting a turban on their head and creating minis and frocks with layered fringes or colorful layered rosettes, the collection is a sci-fi fan dream!

Now, when they go to sci-fi conventions, people would no longer look at them strangely with their characteristic uniforms. In fact, people will look as them as fashion plates!

Seemingly simple at first look, the construction and fabrication turns complicated once details are examined.

A chocolate dress with a keyhole neckline features a bow on the neck, the fabric slightly ruched and a subtle print gives it a final touch.

Like Star Trek that began during the 1960s, there were definite references to the decade; the most obvious is the micro mini skirt. Another one is the raglan sleeve and the boy shorts.
