PARIS, Jul 2, 2006/ FW/ --- The shorts craze that started in Milan continues on here in Paris with Raf Simons proposing multiple variants of the shorts for Spring / Summer 2007.

With lengths varying from thigh high to just above the knee, the shorts took center stage at the Cité des Sciences et de L’Industrie last night with Simons’ sharply and beautifully tailored shorts.

With single to multiple pleats in front, the shorts were adorned with sewn-in holster like patch giving it a geometric styling. In fact, geometry seems to be on Raf Simons’ mind this season.

Sleeveless crew neck shirts in striped color blocks, long-sleeved pullovers with square grids, striped tees in very fine lines and different permutations of the rectangle on extra-long tees dominated the collection.

Trousers are slim and snug fitting and so are the suit jackets. His signature coat, both done in black and white was spruced up and given a linear line.

Simons, who had been presenting his collections in Paris for the past 10 years, also showed that his artistry had matured during the past decade. But instead of becoming stale, he has continued to grow to become more dynamic each year.
