MILAN, May 14, 2007/ FW/ --- Sophisticated looks inspired by the mythology and symbols of the Celtic tradition, Salvatore Ferragamo’s Fall 2007 / Winter 2008 women’s accessories collection is a harmonious blend of textures and colors.

Gray, white and black, interspersed with red, rust and moss green, Graeme Black created new shapes based on an amalgamation of Salvatore Ferragamo’s original designs.

Shoes are proposed with sculptured heels, architecturally shaped and designed on the arch of the foot. The famous Ferragamo wedge was reworked to become a 13.5 heel made of wood and supported by a platform giving the confidence of 8.5. With cushioning in the body of the shoe, it has a comfortable fit with the added feeling of extreme femininity.

Playing with texture, Graeme Black combined leather and fabric. The toecap is made of embossed fabric, with the topline laser cut with Celtic motif.

Super-luxury materials such as python, pony skin and alligator were used in the shoes. Suede is treated as precious fabric, yet retaining the strength of leather and acquiring a velvety handle, seen in the moss green suede boots with crocodile straps.

Pony skin boots are also proposed as platform shoes with the sculptured heels, sometimes suggested with laser-worked mink inserts and Celtic-inspired cuts.

Cage pumps looks ‘strappy’ with its silver and white metallic zigzag leather strips. And for evening, high-heel pumps with glittery design adorn the upper, proposed in fabric, soft leather and patent leather.

Like the shoes, bags are proposed on super-luxury materials such as python, pony skin and alligator, with the addition of intricately woven feathers and patterns traced by filigree and sequins.

Bags are three-dimensional. Breaking new grounds this season, Graeme Black incorporated handles inside the bag, in a single form.

Micro-bags and travel cases, tote bags and clutch bags created in crocodile and lynx are the ultimate expression of luxury. Python tote bags with leather details and a patent leather shopping bag with a perforated Gancio motif are sure winners when they hit the store shelves.

And this season, an extraordinary numbered collection of exclusive bags featuring antique Florentine brocades, with crocodile trimmings is also being offered - a very limited edition indeed.
