PARIS, Oct 9, 2003/ FW/ --- The Stabilo Boss neon highlighters that were given to the press at the start of the show and the neon green Stella Cadente logo as background alerted the attendees that the collection would be bright and colorful.
Pre-show background music was the sounds of the jungle, and when the lights dimmed, there was the recognizable Tarzan yell, that would have made Carol Burnet jealous.
Models paraded the runway with clip-on antlers; bell skirts billowing, and electro-pink streamers flying.
Stella Cadente served up lemon, orange and lime array of her signature gauzy taffeta creations for this ultra feminine collection of jungle-motif.
One seems to be in the middle of a fairy tale, surrounded by baby dolls that refuse to grow up.
With Warner Brother’s new TV series “Tarzan,” Stella Cadente might have stumbled on the way to the heart of America’s youth market with this “Jungle Fever” collection.
Both the presentation and stage direction were very tight and focused.
Kudos goes to the producer of the show, Christophe Carrere of Reflex Events for the dramatic finale.
Forgoing the usual spotlights and opting for black lights, the models made their bow in darkness, their neon clothes glowing in the dark.
As they say in Hollywood, “two thumbs up” for the great production.
