Stephan Schneider Spring 2007: Places To Go, People To See
Paris Menswear Show Spring 2007
By: Mari Davis

Stephan Schneider PARIS, Jun 30, 2006/ FW/ --- Last show of the day, after the whirlwind of the first day of the Paris Menswear Spring 2007, young Stephan Schneider held his own presenting an edgy and urbane collection that a young man would be proud to be part of his wardrobe.

At Le Tapis Rouge, this season’s headquarters for emerging designers, Schneider opted for two movies that were simultaneously being shown as backdrop for the collection. One movie featured a European city, while the other one showed the countryside as seen through a moving train, setting the tone for the collection of a young man traveling through Europe via train.

Hence, the cuts were relaxed for both trousers and suits. Pants had low waist and low crouches, the top loose then tapers at the hem.

As to be expected, there were no ties, crew neck tees were worn under the slim suits that emphasized the waist without losing the fluidity and loose-fitting qualities. There were no buttons on the sleeves, the embellishment were topstitching on the edges and lapel.

The cut was classic, with a contemporary twist provided by the topstitching that was also used at the seams.

Predominant color was black, charcoal gray and midnight blue, the colors provided by the tees that were proposed in pastel shades.

Knitted cardigan, blouson bomber jackets and trench coats based on safari jackets were the outerwear of choice.

The Stephan Schneider lad might travel light, but he manages to be as well dressed as his friends whom he sees in every city that he visits.
