Founded in 1910 by Dante Trussardi, Trussardi started as a glove company in Bergamo. In 1971,
Nicola Trussardi, grandson of Dante, took the helm of the company.
Under his management, Trussardi expanded its product lines, starting in 1973 when it showed
its first accessories collection composed of suitcases, bags and small leatherware.
The same year, the "greyhound" would become Trussardi's symbol and trademark.
Encouraged by the success of their accessories line, Trussardi started expanding its stores and
in 1976, the first stand alone boutique in Milan opened.
Product development continued, and in 1981, the Trussardi bicycle was produced and in 1983, their first Womenswear Collection was
shown in Milan. Trussardi menswear made its debut in 1984, also in Milan.
Today, Trussardi's product lines include womenswear, menswear, children's wear, jeans and
sportswear, eyewear, leather and accessories, fragrances and homeware.
There are over 180
stores worldwide which are either owned by Trussardi or franchised and it is sold in Europe,
Asia and North America.
