MILAN, Jan 19, 2004/ FW/ --- On a backdrop of scaffolding, bodies danced and dangled as braided haired boys showed off their sexy silhouettes. The Valentino man is dandy and sleek for winter 2004/05.
A red velvet corduroy suit with chocolate colour wool turtleneck sweater, set the mood for the show.
Modern, and for a man who likes to dress well, classically Valentino. This season is no exception, as colours and hairstyles are the only undisciplined elements.
Turtlenecks were ultimately used over ties for a clear hint at the 1970’s, while not forgetting the poetic era of the 1960’s, when high-necked sweaters were sexy and charming.
Trousers and pants are slim line and ankle hugging, in cord or wool, with black satin smoking band down the side seam or of smooth slinky velvet.
Minijackets are close to the waist and gorgeous evening suits and tuxedos are chic and seductive.
Luxury and eliteness are found through his use of fabrics and cuts, such as the chocolate mink jacket matched with camel/brown wool turtleneck and chocolate pinstripe trousers, the cashmere coats or once again the blue caban with mink lining.
Beautiful men in beautiful clothes, now how can one go wrong?!
Yet then again, anyone is capable of buying well, its the putting it together and wearing it as if part of your skin that tends to be a problem.
Valentino is admirable for the fact that his pieces are essential, yet appear unique.
The R.E.D collection anticipated the main line of Valentino, mixing sportive and traditional elements in appealing colours and cuts.
Jogging sweats are worn with trousers and leather shoes, woollen beanies are a must and pinks and blues are the main colour scheme.
Valentino makes reworked bomber jackets functional through outer pockets and there is a slightly English feeling as argyle check is placed under jackets.
R.E.D is appealing, yet is essentially a younger version of what Valentinites will be wearing once they are professionals and have great views out of high office towers.
