MILAN, Jan 21, 2004/ FW/ --- In this season of change in Milan, Valentino who is a perennial favorite of the European royalty set his sights across the Atlantic as he woos the up and coming stockbrokers in Wall Street.
Sharp and classic tailoring has always been the trademark of Valentino and for Fall 2006, he raised the bar a notch as he revisited the double-breasted and Nehru-inspired suits plus the tuxedos.
Too bad that this will not be available until Fall, and too late for the Presidential Inauguration because those at Capitol Hill can get some “How To Dress Well and Influence People” lessons from the Valentino man.
Take for instance the dark charcoal gray double-breasted suit with a white shirt worn underneath and a thin tie of the same color. It is reminiscent of the FDR and Dwight Eisenhower days when Americans trust their president implicitly.
Then again, that is what Wall Street denizens are looking for – trust from their clients and the general populace as they play with millions of dollars in the stock market.
Corollary to that, trust is also what the dwellers of Capitol are longing for from the voting public.
Valentino stayed true to himself with this collection, and never strayed from his trademark tailoring but he is also in tune with the winds of change this season as he makes his collection younger and hipper, while still satisfying his existing clientele.
